FROM DELHI TO NALANDA- A JOURNEY OF TRUST BEYOND DISTANCE

That Morning Was A Little Different In The Old Streets Of Delhi. The Horses Of The Caravan Were

Decorated, The Soldiers Were Standing In A Line, And There Was A Silent Whisper All Around-

Today Malik Baya Rahmatullah Alaih Is Leaving The Land Of Delhi And Heading Towards Bihar.

There Was A Strange Spiritual Freshness In The Air. People Were Gathering From Far And Wide To Salute.

Malik Baya Rahmatullah Alaih Said-

This Journey Is Not Just Mine, It Is A Journey Of Love And Justice.

A Caravan Left From Delhi, Leaving Behind The Wide Streets Of Delhi And The Splendor Of

The Tughlaq Fort, Syed Ibrahim Malik Baya Rahmatullah Alaih Turned His Gaze Towards The East.

The High Walls Of The Qila-e-Tughlaq That We Had Left Behind Slowly Disappeared In The Mist.

As Soon As The Convoy Left The Streets Of Delhi, It Seemed As If It Was Moving Towards A New World.

Dust Was Flying From The Hooves Of The Horses, And Only One Thought Was Echoing In The Heart

Of Malik Baya R.A.- I Have To Reach There, Where People Are Looking For Justice And Peace.

This Journey Was Not Easy, Because Bihar Was Not Just A Piece Of Land, But Was Burning With

The Fire Of Rebellions, Regional Kings And Disobedient Armies.

The Hooves Of Horses, Rows Of Soldiers, And In The Middle Was A Simple Sufi-

Who Was Carring With Him The Fragrance Of Iraq, The Faith Of Mohammad Bin Tughlaq

And The Pain Of Iraq, The Fatigue Of Hijrat And The Message Of Love,

It Is Said That Whenever He Passed Through A Village On His Way,

People Were Impressed By His Simplicity And Devotion.

Despite Being A Warrior, He Had A Sufi Heart.

A Sword In One Hand And A Massage Of Love In The Other.

The Objective Was Clear-

The Courage To Plant The Flag Of Justice And Love In The Soil Of Bihar.

On The Way, People Would Ask-

Malik Sahab, Why Are You Leaving Delhi?

He Would Just Smile And Say-

My Heart Does Not Stay Where There Is Oppression.

There Was A Long Journey Ahead…

First Of All, The Convoy Passed Through The Ganga- Yamuna Doab.

Lush Green Crops In The Fields, Small Towns And Mud Houses On The Way-

People Would Come Out On The Way And Salute And Give Blessings.

Then The Caravan Reached The Land Of Patna.

This City On The Banks Of The Ganga Was Bustling With Traders And Merchants At That Time.

This City Situated On The Banks Of The Ganga Was A Centre Of Trade And Prosperity Even At That Time.

Here I Rested For A While. People Offered Rotis, Fruits And Water.

The Caravan Stopped Here For A While, Drank The Water Of The Ganga, And Moved Ahead.

An Old Man Said-

Huzoor, Nalanda Will Be On This Route. Once Upon A Time, A Sea Of Knowledge Used To Flow There, But Now There Is Silence…

This Very Thing Touched The Heart Of Malik Baya Rahmatullah Alaih.

As Soon As We Left Patna, The Road Turned Towards Nalanda.

When The Covoy Left Patna, The Ganga River Was Shining On The Right Hand Side.

Somewhere Boatmen Were Casting Their Nets In The Ganga,

Somewhere Children Were Playing With Mud On The Banks.

On The Way, Fatuha Came- Here The Ganga And Panchane Rivers Meet.

People Say, Whoever Bathes Here, His Soul Becomes Pure.

When We Moved Ahead We Reached The Land Of Bakhtiyarpur.

The Place That Got The Name Of Bakhtiyar Khilji Who Shook The Roots Of Nalanda.

The Echo Of History Was Heard Here Too, But Now The Same Land Was Witnessing A New Journey.

That Nalanda, Which Was Once A River Of Knowledge, Was Now Standing Silently In The Ruins.

Malik Baya Rahmatullah Alaih Picked Up The Soil From There And Said-

This Land Is Thirsty For Knowledge… It Has To Be Illuminated Again.

Then From There We Came Towards Rahui, Where The Greenery, Ponds And Village Soil Welcomed The Caravan.

The News Reached The King Of Munger That A Sufi Commander Is Coming From Delhi.

The Journey Did Not Stop Here- It Moved Forward Through The Valleys And Hills Of Lakhisarai.

Sometimes A Forest, Sometimes A River, Sometimes A Mountain- Every Step Of The Caravan Was A Test.

Finally,Then The Caravan Reached Munger. This Fort On The Banks Of The Ganga,

A City Of Cannons And Army, Was Once Witness To A Great Love And War.

Now Sufiyana Was Saluting The Feet Of Rahmat.

People Welcomed You Here Too.

Here Malik Baya Rahmatullah Alaih Stopped And Met The People,

After Staying For A Few Days, The Journey Continued- And The Destination Came Closer.

And Finally Turned His Journey Towards Bihar Sharif.

Finally, An Area Surrounded By Hills Came Into View.

Greenery All Around, A Town In The Middle- This Was Bihar Sharif.

It Is Said That During This Journey He Met The Great Sufi Saint Of Bihar

Hazrat Makhdum Sharffudin Yahya Maneri Rahmatullah Alaih.

Both The Sufi Souls Sat Together, And The Soil Of Bihar Became Even More Spiritual.

And Then… In The Valleys Of Bihar, Surrounded By Hills On All Sides,

Malik Baya Rahmatullah Alaih Made His Centre- Bihar Sharif.

This Is Where His Story Began On The Land Of Bihar.

From Here The Rays Of Love And Justice Started Spreading All Around.

It Was Here That The Lamp Of Love, Justice And Knowledge Was Lit, Which Is Still Shining Today.
